        Johnson 6hp. I’m guessing 1970 by the dark green on the powerhead.

          I think it is an Evinrude 6 hp from the early 70’s. Other OMC experts should chime it on it. Could be a 4hp also.

          Edit: The first time I looked at the photo’s, I thought the powerhead was painted dark blue, but I agree, it is dark green, like the early 70’s Johnson.

            Yeah, I would say it is a Johnson 6hp between 1968 and 1971.
            Never judge a book by its cover, this might be a great engine. And, it will surely never be stolen!

              It’s a 6hp johnson pre 1974 (or pre 1978, can’t remember when they switched over to CDI). Anything under 6hp in this timeframe didn’t have forward/neutral/reverse or a twist-grip tiller.
