I can’t seem to find a new Tillotson FP-4 fuel pump kit / diaphram for
my 7 hp Sea King K700.
What’s a cheap impulse type fuel pump that would work for this application?
I’ve seen these mentioned on the board in the past, but a search for "fuel pump"
says it’s too common of words!
      Thanks, Buccaneer

To be sure – is this is the type of pump that takes a pulsing vacuum line on one port, and uses it to drive a low-pressure fuel flow through two other ports on the pump?

I think I’d rig up a gravity feed just to see how the thing behaves…

Correct on pulsing vacuum port, one fuel inlet, one outlet.
I’ll tear the pump apart today, but presume the diaphram
is toast. Good idea on the gravity feed test.
Ordered the fuel pump mentioned on Ebay. Even
if I don’t need it for this outfit, good to have one on hand.
                Thanks!

I received the "NEW FUEL PUMP FOR HONDA 16700-Z0J-003 ENGINES"
from EBay today. None of the three hose connections are labeled
as to impulse, inlet, or outlet, and no diagram in the package.
Is the upper section that has the breather screen the impulse port?
                  Thanks for any clues!

The top one is to engine vacuum and blow through the other two there is a check valve and see which way the air flows.

If you can blow, but not suck, it is the inlet.

If you can suck, but not blow, it is the outlet.

The pulse will let you do both. Sort of.

Thanks Chris…… that’s the kind of trouble shooting I
                        can handle!
