      I found this Johnson today on Craigslist, and I think I’m going to buy it, but I don’t really know what model it is, horsepower, etc and I was just wondering if anyone could help me out? It also looks as though a piece of the carb casting is broken and I was wondering how expensive that would be to replace.

        I think it would help if I actually posted the link… Oops…

          I don’t be all over it! The original tank decal is great! Don’t worry about the carb, Im sure a guy like Doug Penn can help you out there. For 100 bucks, grab it.

            my guess;
            based on the thumb screws
            model KA-39 , KA-10 or KS-15 makes it a 1939, 1940 or 1941 year with 9,8 hp

            😉

              Better save it from being laid down on concrete and grinding up that nice bright decal. 😡

                  One of the reasons I want to buy it is to save it from getting all scraped up by this guy!

                    I’ll say it’s a ’30 – ’38 K-50 thru KA-38 model as it has the spark plugs on the side of the block. the ’39 KA-39 thru the ’48 KD-15 had the sparkers pointing out the back.

                    I see the plug wires are missing so you might want to see if both of the coils are still in it. It runs on 8:1 fuel/oil mix and yes, it has no water pump.

                    Looking at it again a bit closer, the gearcase is the KA-37 style so I’m going with ’37 KA-37 or 38! 😉

                      you come closer Jim !
                      watch the thumb screws KA-39, KA-10 and KS-15 are the same as the KD-15
                      and that is what they are
                      😉

                        Looks like it was used as a cutaway display. might have some good parts, gas tank looks good. I see complete K motors for sale for not much more than $100 though
