Is there a substitute impeller for the 1949-1952 KF5 Super 5 Mercury
      part number 47-22062 ?
My uncle is looking for one, but was wondering if there’s an alternate
that would work, or one that could be made to work, rather than
      spending $50 bucks for a 47-22062.
      Thanks.

          Thanks for your help!
I just ordered it. Only thing I question is
that it didn’t give a shipping amount….. just
said that shipping will be billed separately.
What’s up with that? Anyone do business with
          this place before?
          Thanks, Buccaneer.

I have dealt with them several times. Very pleased with their service. $15.95 is a GREAT deal for that! We paid near $50 for the one in our KF-5

Conformation on shipping costs I would want. Hope you didn’t use a credit card!

Used PalPal, and just received an invoice to pay the shipping.
Only $2.75, so all is well.
Never know if NOS is 20, 30, 40, 50 years old, etc.,
but it may never see the water anyway.

if that is the case just take it back out when you are finished and attach it to the handle till you need it so it does not get a set.

I believe J/E 386084 or Sierra 18-3050 will work if you reduce the height (thickness).

FastJohn, interesting about the alternative impellers. I’ll be interested to
hear if anyone has tried this.
How would one uniformly reduce the thickness of the impeller?
                      Thanks!

Do the rough cut with a bench mount belt sander (be careful to not reduce the thickness of your fingers). Finish with the method in an article in the October 2014 issue of The Antique Outboarder.
