      I am working on a 1975 Mercury 200 20hp.

Tried to get the prop off, but it was seized. Bad.

So, took a torch to the hub, melted it, and was then able to pull off prop. This was the instructions from the service manual. I have not had an OMC do this before. Not this bad.

So now Im left with the seized spindle on the shaft. Manual says to use a puller on it, but not sure that will work, not with the pullers I have anyways.

Has anyone been able to split them with say a hacksaw blade? Just a thought, not sure how tedious that would be.

All this to hole saw out the anode to get to the nut under it as the bolt holding the anode on is seized as well, so I can drop the gearcase to change the impeller.

Im hating the dark side 😉

I had to cut one off of my 800 once. I used a cut off wheel and split the hub length wise in two places as the splines will still hold into the hub. This thing must have been a "soaker" (motors left on boats soaking all season) or a salt water motor to have such extreem issues. I have two 75 200’s, one was purchased new by my father and I will keep it forever. I always place some anti-seize on the prop shafts when I install props. You may think it is only going to be on for a little while, but time has a way of getting away.

My 1963 1000 prop required a cutting torch to get it almost removed. Next was the dremal cut off wheel to get the hub off. Now I could replace a bad bearing & have a good motor again!
