I really like the look of cloth braided spark plug wire on an antique outboard. Does anyone know when manufacturers switched to the boring but better insulated black wire that I refer to as Packard 440? I try to keep things period correct when possible.
Where do you guys buy your braided spark plug wire? I know it is available on EBay and Amazon but is it available in a store? I haven’t found it in any automotive stores.
Thanks.
Alan
I got some really nice quality cloth-covered wire and ‘correct’ brass terminals from an eBay supplier in TX(?) "tons.performance". Has the wire in multiple colors in set lengths or by the foot.

I say "pardon me" a lot. I had a 20H, then raced open mod sleds.
Starbolt is one supplier. Lee Pederson sells wire and terminals and our club member Dennis Travithon (sp) sells it from the classified section in "The Antique Outboarder"
