The 510189 wick is shown as discontinued for 50’s and 60’s Evinrudes. I think you get one with Sierra points. Is it possible to buy this somewhere in a roll, or strips?

Might be able to go to a fabric store and buy a roll of felt? Do they make cotton felt? Would think that would last for forever.

Actually you don’t get one with Sierra kits! Not the ones I am looking at anyway? The BRP kits come with two (one with each set of points). The original oiler felts have just about deteriorated away in most engines you open now days from the 50s & 60s. Don’t see why the same thing would not happen to something from a material shop? Buying a tuneup kit is the cheapest way to get everything you need.

I buy those felt washers that fit on the battery posts that are used to retard corrosion. You can get them at most auto parts stores. Just cut out a piece of one of the washers to use. Works great and the price is right.

Could someone post a photo of oiler wick installed. And also what are the dimensions of the wick.
