Be sure the bronze cable has not damaged the housing.If so, it will quickly tear up the new cable. Many are replacing that marune waxed cotton covered bronze cable with woven nylon. Same caution applies. The ends must be fused with heat to keep the nylon from unraveling. A roll pin should be installed after the anchor slot to hold the rope against the inner diameter of the rope sheave (pulley). Be sure to use plenty of rope. In any case, never pul the rope all the way out.
