This doesn’t meet the requirements of a normal Classified Ad,
so I thought I’d try to pass along the data in the forum.
If nothing else, it’s an interesting boat motor related item
for discussion!
This person reached out to me because of my former interest
and web page on Gray Stationary engines made in Detroit, MI.
I know nothing of the person or engine. Here’s his request —

We are in Ramsey Mn. thanksI doubt that is actually a "hit and miss" engine. That is form of governing not used on marine engines, at least in my experience. That is a single cylinder ("one lung"), 2-cycle engine with jump spark (spark plug) ignition. The carburetor or mixer appears to be missing. It looks to have a reversing transmission, which is not typical of this sort of engine but could be attractive so someone wanting an engine for an old-style motor launch.
There is a site, oldmarineengine.com, that is inboard-oriented and would be a good place to post about this.
I am sure you will be able to fine a good home for this item.
October 15, 2016 at 4:59 pm #45891I think it’s a sausage stuffer. I used one just like that when I worked in a locker plant.
October 15, 2016 at 5:27 pm #45896The carb / mixer appears to be there when I enlarge and lightened
the photo on my desktop. The open port is likely the exhaust.
The big box on the back appears to be a chain driven oiler.Prepare to be boarded!
