A lot have you have given me good feedback about the ’71 7.5 I’m interested in. I’ve tried other forums and found mostly negative. It seems other motors use a similar ignition. If that is true are they problematic too? The bottom line for me is-if it sparks when turned over are the solid state bits usable? I can’t see putting $100s in parts into a motor I swapped a 22 for. Thanks, GJ

The only negative is they are very expensive to fix when something goes wrong – – – 🙄

You can revert it back to Phelon standard ignition with a donor motor which should be easy enough to find, if you can’t find the parts.
