I did make a successful prop repair. It’s all about
getting what you want to weld up to the temp. that
will melt the rod. If your melting the rod with the
torch its not sticking to the work. That is why they
use a soda can in there demonstration. Doesn’t take
much to get it up to temp. It was a good color match
when done but it darkened quite a bit after the first
week of use.
