look on the right side of the leg,at the very top , just below the crankcase , -- probably covered by paint, but
there should be model and serial number stamped there-

probably 462-xxxxx

look at the right side top of the motor leg just under the crankcase.
There should be a model number and serial carved into the metal.
it is probably hidden by that thick paint-- perhaps a wire brush could help

likely a 462-XXXXX by scott atwater,

Curious, is it actually worth anything besides sentimental value? I.E. Worth the asking price on eBay?

I found a dead ringer on Hurricane Harry's website! At the bottom of the page. 1946 3.5hp Firestone.

Interesting. The '46 Scott-Atwater and '46 Firestone have different lower unit gearcases. The Firestone still has the Champion gearcase.

I agree has the 4 bolt head, not the later 5 bolt, Just like a Wizzie.
