I believe the worn wires are only ground wires. Just move the wire away from the bottom of the flywheel that they are rubbing and if the wires are stil intact you could put on a dab of liquid electrical tape. Then test the coils. A lot depends on whether you will just use on a small lake or on the ocean. 😀
