I’m in the process of restoring a couple ’50’s Johnson 4-gallon fuel tanks, and I’m not convinced any of mine are ‘virgin’ when it comes to the hose. Does someone know how much hose was originally on these?

      Thanks!

      Jim

I say "pardon me" a lot. I had a 20H, then raced open mod sleds.

A lot of the tanks I came across years ago I think had about 10 or 12 ft. of original hose on them.

To the best of my knowledge, the four gallon tanks were issued with 6 feet of fuel line. The six gallon tanks were issued with 12 feet of fuel line.

Six feet of hose was usually used when the tanks were placed in the stern of the boat (think cruiser) to feed a big motor. Longer lengths allowed the tank to be up forward when using a smaller motor and a smaller boat for fishing or whatever.
