I’m trying to get a metal single line tank usable.
I got rid of the light rust inside, made new gaskets, etc.
I was trying to confirm that the pick-up tube was
not plugged, but I can’t seem to get flow either way.
Is there a check valve in the system?
Instead of un-soldering the screen, I taped a piece
of vinyl tubing over the screen and tried blowing
air thru. Did the same thing from the outlet end
with now luck. Guess I’ll un-solder the screen and
try rodding out the tube, unless someone has
      a better idea?
I think mine is like this diagram.

The two little pins that get pushed in when you connect the hose—-are they pushed in? They are vent & fuel shutoff valves

Frank, I was just going to amend my post stating,
"Never mind, I’m an idiot", then I see your post
stating what it took me half an hour to learn, lol.
Most of my collection is "pre 1960", and most have
          integral tanks!
I had the pickup tube in a can of gas, and put
suction to the outlet fitting, via my sand blaster gun……
nothing……… then I got the bright idea to push
          in one of those pins!
I thought they were just spring loaded pins to keep
          tension on the hose connector.
