I’ve got a decal that I’m trying to figure out which Martin motor it goes with! This is a picture of the carb decal for the lower front cowl, my problem is, I don’t know if it goes with the Martin 40 or Martin 60 or if the same decal goes on both? Any help would be appreciated.
      Thanks
      JP

You need to check your carburetor not all have the prime function.

It is the same decal for the early Martin 40 and 60, those that have the priming feature (black gas tank).

Be careful with that decal…it’s the worst most difficult one to apply. Because it has a compound curve, you have to do several things to prepare it. Lay it flat and mist-coat it with several ultra-thin coats of lacquer. When it’s dry warm the water slightly above room temperature as well as the cowl….you want the decal to bend accordingly and stretch so there are few wrinkles. If you use a razor blade on the edges you can eliminate small wrinkles but it’s difficult…good luck, take your time.

              Thanks Jerry,
I spray the decal with a coating of deft, makes the application a lot easier.
