Postby outbdnut2 » Wed Apr 27, 2016 4:24 pm

Anyone know of an available magneto coil I can modify to fit a 1.8 HP, 1940 Elto Ace?

I put a modern OMC coil in mine. Had to modify the laminates but I got it to fit and works great.

I too need a coil for my 1940/1941 Elto ACE 4351.

Can you let me know what OMC coil it was that you have used?

Its pretty common for this magneto
to loose spark because of corrosion
in the point assembly. Disassemble
the points and clean everything and
recheck for spark. These coils are
rarely bad. I bet I have had 20 or
more motors with this magneto
that wouldn't spark when I got them
but it was never the coil. Its always
good to know if there is an option if
you do find a bad coil so how about
a picture Tom?
