What is the correct Sierra replacement fuel pump for my 1962 Evinrude 5.5hp?
Are there rebuild kits made for the original 0388685 pumps?
      Thanks,
      Drifter

if you run into expensive solution you could always tap & nipple the pulse port and just stick in a inexpensive Brigss Straton pump $15-20$

I don’t think your original pump is rebuildable so a good replacement would be one of the the small, square pumps which were used just about everywhere. The Sierra P/N is 18-7350.

If you use a square pump, the fittings may need orienting to your motor so the following link will take you to Leeroys Ramblings which shows how to do it.

Sierra Marine had a good variety of pumps that would fit. Evinrude stopped supplying repair kits because so many "mechanics" were assembling them improperly.
