      I just acquired one of these that are fully functional. Does anyone have a picture or two of it actually carrying a motor? I am surmising the fold out arms grab a motor, but I’m trying to understand how this can scoop one up on the underside of a lower cowel without breaking plastic cowels.

        Believe these were originally designed prior to plastic lower cowls…….
        LIft them by the crank or lift eye.

          You can remove cowl, and run a strap under the powerhead, but as stated, best to use a lift eye on the crank.
