      Hi all

Have been working on my 1937 Evinrude Sportsman today; gearbox was seized so I cleaned it out and fresh lube.

A question about the carb, what is the ideal setting for the adjustable needle valve? I can’t remember if it was half a turn out or a full turn out for these older motors.

      Cheers

Half a turn should be about right.

Check valve lift is ⅛", Valve spring pressure is 3 ounces, Fuel level in float bowl should be 23/32" down from the rim when held level. Breaker points are set at .020" and the spark plug gap should be .025"

        . . . . . . . 😀

          Thanks for that Garry!

I would check points etc but a country fix has been made to the flywheel, and as a result it is not able to come off. Pictures to follow soon.

          Cheers
