I picked up a rudder twin Saturday. Where will I find the I.D. tags or stamps?

    Hello Slim60,
The tag is missing, it would have been mounted on the front of the tank just under the ignition timer handle. You should see the 6 holes for the drive
Pins that held it in place. The motor looks to be a 1924 or 25 Elto Lighttwin 3hp model C or D. ( D being a longshaft ) tough to tell by the angle of the
Photo. The leg on the C would measure approximately 25" to the bottom of the crankcase, the D would measure approximately 31" to the bottom of
the crankcase. Once cleaned up and dialed in they are great motors. I have several of these in my collection and enjoy running them.

    Respectfully

I wonder if there may be a welch plug that would have the numbers stamped on it.
