    Yes, an absolute bear to tilt for sure. You must overcome the resistance of the shock absorbers as well. OMC did make an electric tilt (no trim) for these engines, but don’t think you will find one that is still in decent condition. The transom bracket must be disassembled to install the hydraulic tilt cylinder as well…
    I think tempo or some other aftermarket makes a pretty nice tilt lever arm that locks into the shroud’s tilt handle, affordable and effective.
    Hope it runs OK. Be sure to drain and refill the gearcase after you water test, just to ensure no more water is getting into the gearcase…Might be a little milky because the new oil has mixed with any residual water/moisture that didn’t drain out…
