Up for sale in Central New Jersey is a vintage '53 Super Fastwin.
Long story short, this has been in the family since '53 when my Grandfather bought it new, but didn't run from '71 (when the boat it was on was taken out of service) until '15 when I took possession and "restored" it.
By "restore", I made it run: new coils, points, condensers, spark plugs, ignition wires, impeller, carb rebuild, paint, decals, new gear oil, etc. It passed all of my barrel tests....ran great!
I just put it on a boat this August, and unfortunately, my "restoration" didn't go deep enough....in gear at WOT, there's a bad bearing in the head that's squeaking. It's certainly fixable, but the engine is really too small for my boat anyway, so I'm not going to tear it down and fix it.
Should be a fairly simple fix...or you can part it out. I have another project engine on the bench, and don't have time for this old '53.
So this is a project engine or a parts engine.....you decide. Price reduced....$75
