Ferro RBM advertisements stated the magnetos were reversible. Try Autolite 3095 or Champion 25 spark plugs. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim. I believe I might have used the Autolite 3095 on a Maytag engine
once upon a time.
I received an email reply from the Prime Minister regarding some of my question on
RBM magnetos. He believes that all the magneto’s he’s seen on RBM’s had some
type of spark advance. Also, as you mentioned, he says that Ferro’s mags
were advertised to run in either direction. Furthermore, he does not
believe any RBM mags used an impulse coupling.
Not sure if I could "build-in" a spark advance somehow, using a points plate
that swivels. If so, it would have to be so the 70 year old coil wires
didn’t move back and forth each time.
First I’ll figure out how to mount and couple the mag, then ponder lack
of spark advance.
Does it look like this original Elkhart magneto had any kind of spark advance?
