I can’t seem to figure out what this is called and am doing a shout out to everyone for help.

Need to update a steering set up for a customer with an older 60’s model motor which doesn’t have through-stern bracket provisions for newer teleflex/sea star steering systems (which work on everything pretty much ’76 and above). With the single cable set up, there needs to be a backet that ties/holds the cable to the transom (or other mounting position at the rear of the boat) so that the system works.

What is the name of this bracket?

Used that setup on my pontoon with with ’55 Evinrude Bigtwin… Did very well…As long as you don’t have to tilt the motor completely up. might have been my setup but could never get it to go all the way up, as the steering cable has to move a whole bunch..

I agree, the old motors just were not made for push-pull cable steering. It’s pretty much impossible to get it "right". But I’ve preached on that subject long enough.
