(Yet again, this post went away in a strange fashion so this is attempt #2. Is it me, or my computer, or is it this board…..?)
I ordered this from McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com).
"Ultra-Strength Oil-Resistant Buna-N Rubber Sheets and Strips
With the greatest tensile strength of all our oil-resistant rubber, these super-strong Buna-N sheets and strips can handle high-tension applications such as belting. Buna-N is also known as nitrile, NBR, and acrylonitrile butadiene. It resists fuel oil, hydraulic oil, ethylene glycol, and grease."
"8969K531 Ultra-Strength Oil-Rst Buna-N Rubber, Sheet, 12" x 12", 1/64" thickness." Cost was $5.18 and about another $5 for shipping.
They have various grades and thicknesses. I don’t really know that this is the most suitable but the description seemed promising. Will start soaking some tonight to see how it holds up.
This is probably a lifetime supply for me. If anyone would like a piece to try, send me yr address in a PM.
