The mood hit me a while ago quick see if the subject
motor would run. I hadn’t got around to checking
for spark, compression, or any of the neat things,
but the gas in the tank that came with it didn’t
smell too old, so thought perhaps it had run in
the last couple of years.
Wanted to quick check the gear lube first.
Of course, I couldn’t get the bottom plug out.
Managed to get some in via the top.
Started………. raining, on the second pull, fired
on the third, ran a few seconds on the fourth,
and stayed running on the 5th pull.
It sounded real good, pumped water, had forward and reverse.
Tried to lean out the low speed, but not much happened with
the needle turned all the way in, but it idled decent anyway.
Aborted the show after about four minutes before the rain
turned into another monsoon. Pretty sure after the last week,
Minnesota now has about 20,000 lakes. 😮
Put the motor back on the cart, and walked by a little later.
Decided that I must have managed to get some gear lube
in the case, as it was now on the garage floor, lol.
All in all, it just might be a keeper.
Prepare to be boarded!
