Use any good outboard gear oil. I use Sierra Premium gear oil that I buy in a 5 gallon pail because I use so much of it in a wide variety or motors, but any 80 to 90 weight outboard gear oil will work. I don’t recommend same weight gear oils that are not for outboard use, as outboard oils have an additive that will emulsify small amounts of water, preventing damage. Automotive gear oils do not have this.

If you don’t have a lot of motors that use this oil, I recommend buying a quart (or Liter) and getting a hand pump to put on the bottle. As with other motors, pump it in the drain until it comes out the vent.
