Remove small dents from brass exhaust tube

Postby lauson73 » Thu Jun 14, 2018 2:43 pm

I have a brass exhaust tube on the motor I am restoring and it has some small dents I would like to remove. It has two different sized ends and they have a small crimp on ends. I tried to use a ball bearing and was going to force threw but the crimp on end prevented that unless I wanted to flare end and I don't want to do that.
Any suggestions on how to remove dents.

If there aren't any creases a soft hammer will
take the dents out. A solid rod may be a better
choice than a pipe for what your doing. You may
have to grind down part of the rod to get around
the crimp or if you do use a pipe cut a part of it
out.
