OK, tried to pull the magneto off and one of the puller bolts broke! I’ve never had that happen before. Any suggestions on how to loosen up the magneto? I’ve sprayed it with liquid wrench (on the shaft and around the mag plate), tried heating it with a torch, hit puller with a hammer while pulling up on magneto. Is there something different about these magnetos that I am unaware of? Thanks again.

Disconnect/unclip the stop leads from the mag plate first to rule out vacuum switch/wiring problems.

I have had one of those flywheels be a real bear with me as well. I have a strong OEM puller with the bar. You MUST use grade 8 bolts for these big boys! Else, they snap as you found. I had to put about a 3′ extension bar on the end of my wrench that goes on the puller bolt to get enough torque to get her to pop off. My wife held the puller handle, while I pulled on the bar on the wrench on the puller bolt. She did finally pop.

As a side note, I think my wife popped as well. I didn’t warn her 😉
