Hi Guys, I have a 1977 Johnson 35 with electric choke. It does not seem to be working. The solenoid does nothing when the key is turned on. A new one is quite pricey at about $75. How do I test this solenoid to make sure it’s the problem before ordering a replacement?
?? Did I read that right? Turning the key on does not activate the choke. Turning the key on and holding the choke toggle switch activates the choke. Maybe that is what you meant to say. Note: These days, many have been converted to push-to-choke key switches. With those, you turn it on and push and hold the key in to choke.
