Hey folks. A brand newbie here, having just come home with a boat/motor/trailer bought from a local charity. I’m trying to figure out what I have. The motor has a "Registered Classic" decal from AOMCI. It is a Mercury Mark 25, serial number 1043213. According to the seller, the donor had recently fully restored the engine, and attached it to the wooden hull boat made from plans. Can anyone shed any light on the engine, such as year of Mfr and if it is particularly valuable? I think I have divined that it is an 18-20 horsepower if anyone can confirm. I appreciate any help.

Welcome to the site, the Florida chapter has a very active membership, we’d love to have you visit us at the next meet. Bring the motor and we’ll help make sure you know how to care for it and run it best

Judging by the serial, I’d say a ’56 or ’57?

Valuable depends on a lot of variables, but a fully restored and well running motor is always worth more than one that is in bad condition

          Hey Charles

Here’s a link to the western New York AOMCI website. You can find some parts manuals for your motor here.
