I acquired a eska model # 217-585830
Can anyone tell me the year of this motor and also anyone happen to have a repair manual?
I want to start working on but having trouble even getting cowling off as I’ve never seen one set up the way this is

1969 Sears 7hp. Uses a Tecumseh 639-10 engine.
That’s all I know.

Probably not much help, but this is the closest thing
I could find relating to Tecumseh and Outboards…..

Ah, yes, the lower cowl. How dumb can a company be? That dumb. Two ways to deal with it: Either pull the power head or cut it vertically in the rear, near the spark plug and bend and pull slightly towards the front, to remove it.

Designed for assembly. Silly question, but why remove the lower cowl ? Rumor has this engine that uses the AV750 block. I hope yours has the old-style mag (points and conds). I can try digging out some service info, that motor is covered reasonably well in the Intertec Outboard Motor Service Manual 11th edition…

Removing the lower cowl will help with carb service…
