Since it is a nice fresh restoration…and I’m trying to stay original…how about Champions…like I always use.

Anyone know what a good modern Champion plug would be that works in this.

          Thanks!

The original plug was a J1-15 so you may have to do a Google search to find a modern equivalent.

What, if anything, was in the hole when you got the motor?

I’m sure someone who knows will eventually show-up with data, but if not, you’ll just have to pin down the basics (thread size / pitch / reach) and pick a plug in a middling heat range – like an NGK 6 or 7 or a Champion 6 and try it.

On these old motors, just about anything (heat range-wise) should be OK for initial shake-down runs in a tank, etc.

The more modern short Champion spark plugs begin there part number with "C". A following "C" indicates a copper core. which is advertised as having better heat tolerance and an extended heat range.
