Seems there was a post awhile back that there’s a company that rebuilds them for around a $100. I got mine from Doug Penn for around a third of that. From what I understand most of them coils should be OK. Make sure you’re testing them correctly. If you haven’t already you really should remove the cylinders and see what’s going on in there. There are aluminum spark arrestor screens built into the cylinders. One of mine fell out and seems the crank chewed it up and spit them out the exhaust but there was still a lot of shavings and small chunks left over. Didn’t seem like it caused any damage but you really don’t want that stuff floating around in there. I may have got lucky? The advice I got on here is the motor will run better if you remove the screens anyway. I’m on the tail end of a total rebuild on one of these motors just post for parts needed. Mine may end up being a wall hanger but it’s gonna be a pretty wall hanger.
