      I’m sure there’s an answer that’s going to make me say "duh",
      but what are the two little cam looking pieces on the transom
      mount, as pointed out in the link?
      Not my motor by the way…….. wish, but "no".
      I looked at the mystery pieces on my motor today, and could
      see no practical reason for me. They freely spin on the shaft.

        Just from looking at them, it appears they limit the range the motor can tilt up.

        BTW – is that a Scott Atwater build.. ca. 1950-52 maybe?

          The pieces will hit the data plate bracket, but they
          spin on the shaft that they’re on. I thought perhaps
          they were stops, but I could lift the lower unit
          up further than ever needed with no effect.
          Yes, made by Scott, believe the 10-A-73 was
          made in 50, 51, & 52.
