So i have this motor and i need to get access to ignition coil. can anyone help me?
March 30, 2020 at 12:27 pm #198817Most likely you’ll need a flywheel puller, if the flywheel is designed for one.
If not, a flywheel “popper” bolt and someone to hold the outboard
by the flywheel while the “popper” bolt is whacked. What’s the issue?Prepare to be boarded!

March 30, 2020 at 3:58 pm #198836If your flywheel has three opposing, threaded holes in the top,
you could get by with this type of puller, especially with that
small of a motor. They work okay on motors up to 10 hp usually.
Big ones need a better, heavier duty puller.Prepare to be boarded!
March 31, 2020 at 8:58 am #198865I have a puller like the one you have a link to on ebay . I have used it to remove every flywheel on classic motors that I have worked on with no problems except larger two cylinder OMC’s. I never have had a problem with 4 or 6 cylinder Merc’s. It helps a lot to use an air impact when tightening the large center screw–but also leave the flywheel nut on the crank flush with the top of the crank. This will help to prevent mushrooming of the end of the crank and keeping the flywheel from flying off the crank in case it releases suddenly.

June 8, 2020 at 10:55 am #205130I got it i had a gear sprocket and drilled holes and put a nut and she cam of thanks now i need a gas cap and new seals for everywhere and new coil.
June 8, 2020 at 10:55 am #205131any idea where to get that stuff
June 8, 2020 at 1:48 pm #205136I’m not sure it has any actual rubber lipped seals anywhere. The drive shaft seal appears
to be cork washers stacked….. not sure what the prop shaft has. I don’t believe you’ll
find any over the counter gaskets for this motor for sale, so you’ll have to make them.I’m not sure what kind of coil your motor takes. A photo would be helpful to
determine if an alternate coil could be fitted or substituted.
Have to tested the old coil with an ohm meter?Prepare to be boarded!
