      Folks
      just picked up a restoration project a Johnson 3 HP JW – 16 , I believe it is a 1960 looking for operating and parts manuals. any suggestions. also any pointers on these engines would be appreciated.

        Yes it is 1960. check ignition system , most likely will need coils . remove and clean carb and tank pay attention to the filter. check water pump. good motors easy to work on. use a lot of oil 16- 1 ratio. OH check the lower unit for oil and change it. just starters

            Folks
            does anyone have the name of the company that has the copywrites to Johnson owner’s manuals. Also having a hard time finding paint for vintage Johnson ( Holiday Bronze 56, 57, 58 and the sea Mist Green 54 and 55 any good option other than NYmarine in Canada?

              johnson manual… you can print all your needed sections for your JW by just choosing the printer at the bottom of the page…. limited series pages can be selected on the upper screen and you just hit the tick mark bottom right to send it into a PDF file on your PC …for safekeeping

              then you you can print your PDF files like any

                  Here’s a ’62 JW-17 parts manual. This motor is basically the same as yours except for the decals.
