Hi,  Does anybody know where I can get a nice looking motor stand ?  Would like to buy a nice stand and put the motor in my office or living room.    Thanks for any help.

        A used “walker ” with a 2 x 6 mounted will do in a pinch.

I made these from mostly scraps left over from
my projects. The bottoms are just a piece of 2X12
with 2X4’s screwed to it. The upright is a 2X10
          at a 10 degree angle.

Forget the motor stands, Tubs those motors are spectacular. I can only imagine the amount of time and effort that you put into each one of them. Your tanks are laser straight without a ripple, and the mirror polishing is amazing. Knowing you they probably all start and run well!
Bravo, job well done. Those are a few of the finest restoration examples I have ever seen. You have set a very high bar for the rest of us.

These are a little more difficult to make.

If I had a stand that nice maybe the wife would let me bring an outboard
                  in the house!

2X4 wood stands for the shop are easy to make out of Home Depot hockey sticks.  A dolly can also be converted into a stand making it easy to move a motor around.  A bit of stain on the wood ones would make them look better for display purposes though.DSC00120

One of these days I’ll get around to putting a stain finish on mine to make it look a little better.

Thank you Bob for the complement. Keeps me busy through the winter.
It’s pretty much the same process as you use restoring your motors and
the motors pictured here except instead of sanding on filler, primer, and
paint, I’m sanding on aluminum. Polishing – the machine and compounds
are different but the process is the same except I don’t have to deal with
a run or a fly in the paint or any other issues the can make a paint job
blow up. In many respects I find aluminum easier than paint.
The folding Sportwin wasn’t any prize when I got it. Bugs had entered
the motor in several places. Luckily the pistons were blocking the ports
keeping them from getting into the cylinders. Its not a common motor.
Normally the first thing I do to a motor is get it to run. Next could be
nothing to what I did with the Sportwin. Most make it onto a boat for awhile.
