working on a winter  project on a  new to me 7.5 Merc   my mid 70s  had a tiller speed band all mangled up.. basically  a visual ugly  turn-off.

I looked up  some  Merc  tiller  stick on speed bands. Yes I found some but   cost – shipping X2  (ridiculous)-  exchange and  taxes got me to say… no way !

I  resorted to making my own with Power Point.

I  Shaped  / sized   one  to fit the  tilller  handle circomference  and ended with a   perfect fit  (took a few “inexpensive”  trials)

I simply printed the .ppt result ,  sealed it up  with  Dollar store  self-laminating sheets for  protection & all 4 edges also sealed with clear fingernail polish

Wrapped and glued my  homemade  tiller speed band on the tiller with  6000 glue    &   let  it dry  with a couple  a rubber bands for 24 hrs to hold the shape.  Contact glue  or  Clear Goop should work to !

Cost.. about  $2 max… in any color you want to make it 🙂

      here is one  example
