Beefy impeller housing

“Never seen one of these before. Stout!!” Me neither! What’s it off of? It looks like it’s a tight fit inside. Is it worn out? Maybe its a racing job.

If that is from an OMC and it’s bronze that was an optional housing that was for high wear conditions such as shallow water running in places with a sandy bottom. I bought a new old stock one years ago on eBay for a mid 50’s OMC big twin. Just to have it but not to use.

Don’t know if it’s bronze. Haven’t looked that close. But it is pretty heavy for its size.
