      what is the correct process to filling lower unit with gear lube? there is one plug(which i am missing) just below the prop but that is it, if someone has part#19109 plug im interested in buying thanks

        bottom up till it overflows the top plug    install top  plug  then the bottom one

        filling upwards  ensures no air pockets

         

        some  small non shifting motors use grease  (John Deere corn head grease if yours uses  grease )

          I’m not familiars with these, but on some of the pre-war
          motors I have that don’t have a vent screw, you take out
          one of the screws that attach the bearing retainer that go
          all the way through to the gear case for the vent.

            I have the green Elgin version and it has a plug below and above the prop on the port side.
