Hello! I am currently adding some outboard tools to my shop.
      My short list
      1. Ultrasonic cleaner
      2. A better spark checker
      3. New Carb cleaning brushes
      4. Long telescopic magnet
      5. No taper screwdriver for carbs

I haven’t broken the brass fitting on one yet, and I’d like to keep my streak alive: the 317002 is $50-60 on eBay. I’ll pay that but I’d rather get something suitable that is cheaper. Briggs and Stratton 19061 is on eBay for $20. I wasn’t sure if this would work? Do y’all have another suggestion or is best to just bite bullet on 317002.

Thanks and have a blessed day!

Just looks like a specialized screwdriver with a stubby straight (no taper) tip.  Maybe check out quality gunsmith drivers, at Brownell’s ( on line catalogue- “tools”) , these drivers come in a wide verity of bit sizes and widths, all with no – taper tips. Gunsmiths don’t like to “jimmy-up” screw heads on , like  $10, 000 shotguns.

317002 is the OMC universal fixed jet remover/installer screwdriver.    That Briggs tool looks like it might work out, unfortunately you would have to buy it and try it to know….

On the suggestion of Cajun Cook and Frank Robb I bought these some years ago and they work fine. Current price is $3.66 each.

I bought a few of those years ago. They work great. I recall one or both of those guys recommended them.

Yep, order 4 of them.  One to use, one to lose, one to give away, and one just because it is such a good deal.

Get at least one of these O ring picks.
Its the tool I use the most.
Hardly a day goes by I don’t use it for something.
Harbor Fright & eBay has them.

Seems like the blades without flares would be good to adjust points, too, without having to move wires out of the way.
