      Hello, I have a 1948 Johnson TD -2o and the red book service manual. The manual does not mention any lubricant on the rubber pump. Is this true?

       

      FWIW, I joined this club in 1983 and found this AOMC news letter from October 1983, just thought you would like to see it. All research, back then, was done by US mail, and parts were very hard to locate, took weeks to get any info if at all. This on line forum is fantastic, compared to 1983, which obviously was pre interweb.

        water lubes the Impeller oil, grease will swell the pump and ruin it.
