In other words the tower that the powerhead sits on. Well, it has a two piece unit on the top end one of which is the transom mount. Two castle nuts and two bolts hold these two pieces

together. This unit can swivel around the casing. It has a band that wraps around the casing made of a material I’m not sure of. Is this friction material?? Should it be lubricated??

GUY SCHMIDT, I am working on mine and when I took mine apart their was the remanence of grease in it, I am going to put some in mine to try to prevent that band from wearing down quickly.

Thanks Mike for your input. I’m wondering if that cavity built into the split sleeve is for grease? My two halves didn’t have a gasket so it must be something thick.
