The flash drive that I bring when I’m away from home has gone blank so I can’t provide any picture’s. This is some stuff you won’t find in the manual. When you turn the fuel mixture lever to the right, the mixture screw should bottom out when the lever is pointing at, or close to , 3 O’clock. When you turn it to the left, the mixture lever should stop in the “prime” area. The linkage arm should be lifting the poppet valve up, while pushing the float needle down, when fuel is in the carburetor. Check yours for the proper setting. When you separate the gear case, in the top half, you’ll see a metal washer over a cork washer where the driveshaft passes through. This is a water seal. Take a socket, slightly smaller than the washer, and tap the washer down slightly if there isn’t a snug fit to the drive shaft. It won’t take much. Points set at .015, plugs at .025. You should use Lubriplate 105 or John Deere corn head grease in the lower unit. Art Dekalb sells a weld on skag for that lower unit. Link below.
