Finally getting to the QD15. I have a tank with a new (nos) diaphram and gaskets. My questions are:

Seems like the plunger (aluminum rod plunger w/ 9 hole diaphram) doesn’t have as much up/down travel as I imagined. Normal?

When I pump the plunger I get fuel in the glass bowl, but I can see the fuel ‘leak down’ ever so slightly afterward. Normal?

1st experience with a remote tank. Thanks for any help/advice.

      Best Regards

      John

The check valves in the tank are not perfect nor expected to be, so I wouldn’t worry about the leakdown.

Since the pump is pumping gas to the carburetor and hopefully no gas leaks anywhere you probably are ok.

          Thanks Frank,

Yes, I hadn’t tried running it yet but did so today. Couldn’t get it to stay running, had to keep priming the carb to get fuel into the bowl. Finally took a close look at the tank and found I had not screwed the pump housing down tight enough (a couple of minor air pressure leaks). Fixed that and now it runs like a top! First run since I got it almost a year ago. My CD12 did just as well! Two runners, time for cosmetic work.

          Thanks again,

          Best Regards,

          John
