      Hi All

I’m just wondering what you all use to clean carbs with an ultrasonic cleaner, I’ve done a bit of searching and the internet tells me that either a few drops of Dawn dish detergent would be perfect, or, I really need to spend $50 and ounce on space age cleaning solution.

50/50 simple green and water.  Get a glass jar or plastic container just large enough to hold your parts that you are cleaning. Put parts in container with 50/50 mix. Put container in ultrasonic cleaning machine. Fill machine around parts container with water up to fill line. Run your ultrasonic cleaner as you normally would. When done, dump out water and now you can easily store the small amount of cleaning solution or dump it out. Saw a guy on the internet do it this way and I have done it this way for a few years and it works great. Dumping out way less cleaning solution. Any cleaning solution you decide to use works better if you heat it up first with the heater in the ultrasonic machine or by using hot water from the tap. When done cleaning parts, rinse with clean water and blow out and dry with compressed air.
