I getting ready to put a fully restored Johnson 1947 TD 20. I have everything figured out except for the 2 brass oval head crews that go in the front of the shroud. The parts manuals call for 4 screws that are the same but the rear screws for the shroud are the 3/4 inch with a collar which are pinned . I need to see if someone has an all original td 20 that can verify that the 2 rear screws should be 3/4 inch pinned and the two front screws (as seen in my photo) are not pinned and what I need to know is if they are 3/4 inch or 1 inch in length. I hope my photo and my question is simple and can be understood. Thanks for any help on this. Paul
The pins are there to prevent complete removal. The shroud should have two slotted holes to slide under the heads of the screws which are partially removed. Rear ones if I remember correctly. Length? I suspect the ones that you have are correct.+
Thanks vey much for the replies. So I now have the two screws that are pinned figured out and they are in the correct place and still pinned. What I wold like to now verify if someone has an original motor with the original screws is if the screws in the front of the shroud (arrows pointing to them are originally 3/4 or 1 inch in length. Thanks for any verification. Paul
I really appreciate the help here. Believe it or not this I think was my last technical question that I have and can now begin the rebuild process. All new gaskets and seals and a complete wonderful rebuild of the Carb. Thanks for all of your help. Paul
