      Hi Everyone,

I am working on a QD16 10hp Johnson and the shift handle is really loose in the housing (midsection?).  I think a nicely machined brass bushing would fix it up nicely, but I don’t have a lathe.  Does anyone on here do that sort of thing?  Or is there a better idea for fixing the slop in the shift handle?

      THANKS!

      –Rob

I know some of those can be fix up using some brass tubing available at hobby stores.
If I don’t find the information, search on site and see if it pops up, or someone
will probably have the data ready available.

        Prepare to be boarded!

Got a drawing of what you want made, including accurate dimensions?

OR perhaps it’s something you can make for yourself?

              Mumbles had a good fix…. https://www.aomci.org/forums/topic/johnson-cd12/

A number of ebay sellers have the brass stock as well as some hobby shops, hardware stores, etc.

Thank you, sir!  I think I’m going to give this a try!

Thank you sir!  I think I am going to give this method, combined with FrankRs’ suggestion a try.  Seems simple enough; drill the hole out, push in a brass sleeve from the hobby store, and glue it in with what I assume is JB weld.

THANKS to all of you for the help!
